ODOUR BASICS & ASSESSMENT WITH NASAL RANGER

1. Descriptions

The course provides basics of odor, introduction to Nasal Ranger and assessment of variety odorous samples using field olfactometer @ Nasal Ranger. Participants will perform odour sensitivity test to evaluate ones sensory sensitivity in determining odour concentration.

2. Benefits

Participants will have hands-on to the equipment that is used in developed countries such as USA, Europe, Japan and even Thailand by their Environmental Officers performing the odour surveillance. Participants will be able to recognise and describe an odour. In addition, participants will be taught basic principles of odour investigation and odour complaint verification.

Environmental Practitioners, Managers, Supervisors, Engineers, Operators, Environmental Surveillance Officers, Safety and Health Practitioners.

FIELD OLFACTOMETER ODOR ASSESSMENT AND MEASUREMENT FOR AMBIENT ODORS

1. Descriptions

The course provides fundamentals of odor, odor description and characterization, introduction to Nasal Ranger and the assessment of various odorous samples using Nasal Ranger @ Field Olfactometer.

2. Benefits

Participants will be exposed to odor descriptions which is the method of communicating odor characters and understanding odor complaints. Participants will also be trained on how to use the equipment which is Nasal Ranger @ Field Olfactometer. In addition, few other standard methods of measuring odors will be explained to participants.
